You meet someone in a group about something you both care about and get talking in its chat. Maybe you both RSVP to the same event. Then one of you sends a friend request, and it goes through when the other accepts.

A feed of your friends
Your home feed shows your friends’ posts, newest first, and posts from their friends when the audience is set to Friends of friends. There are no ads in it.

An inner circle for close friends
Add your closest friends to your inner circle. Each time you post, you choose who sees it: Friends, Friends of friends, Inner circle or Only me. A post in a group is only for that group’s members.

Events and live audio rooms
Post a board game night, a book club or a pride meetup as an event and see who’s going. When you’d rather talk than type, drop into a live audio room.
Common questions
Is Luney good for making LGBTQ+ friends rather than dating?
Yes, that’s what it’s for. People meet in groups, group chats, events and live audio rooms, and send a friend request when they want to stay in touch. There’s no swiping through people.
How do I find people with the same interests?
On the Groups tab, search for what you’re into or look through Discover, and join the public groups that fit. The Events screen shows what’s coming up. Once you’re in a group, you can read its chat and posts for a while before you say anything.
Can I keep a low profile?
Yes, though some of your profile is always visible: anyone signed in to Luney can see your name, handle, pronouns, bio, photo and banner. Each post goes only to the audience you pick. In Settings › Privacy you can also hide yourself from search, choose who can message you and who can send you friend requests, and hide your mutual friends and groups.
